Day 2 & 3

So sorry for not updating yesterday on what Day #2 held for us..but here goes...

Day #2 for Tracie / Day #1 for Alan
After the 1st day of getting used to the change in diet and realizing how much I missed fresh, healthy foods, day #2 came much easier. The day consisted of:
  • a yogurt and an orange for breakfast
  • a salad with roasted turkey breast and a teensy bit of fat free dressing
  • some mini rice cakes for a snack
  • grilled chicken with whole wheat pasta and a cup of marinara for dinner (Alan also had a salad as his 4th veggie)
Alan was on disk #1 of his exercise and had a blast..not too painful, but definitely whipped his butt! I on the other hand did my 200 crunches, 150 squats, and 100 push ups and feel fabulous!

We also got to watch the Blind Side and call it an early night..HIGHLY recommend that movie!

Day #3 for Tracie / Day #2 for Alan
The morning started very early for the both of us and seemed to be a very "go, go go" day. The new diet seems to be settling in just fine for the both of us. Alan snacks during the day to keep the tummy rumbling down and has his super healthy lunch and I dive into work to distract my mind from the adjustments that my body is going through.

Today consisted of:
  • yogurt for breakfast (was too busy for the apple today)
  • a salad with roasted turkey breast again (I swear I can eat this all day and it will never get old)
  • cute little tofu cubes
  • a 1/2 of a rockstart (I was DYING so I decided to cash in my drink allowance)
  • mini rice cakes for a snack
  • rosemary chicken, sweet onion, and mushroom kabobs with grilled basil red potatoes
Alan's exercise kicked his a** today. He came downstairs dripping..and I really mean dripping..in sweat. It was plyometrics day! He loved every minute of it and admitted to not being able to do all of the reps (I think that's what it's called)..what a true man :)

Day 1

Yesterday was day #1 of the 90 day journey...The day proved to be challenging in more ways than one. My car battery was dead, but brought back to life by the wonderful Mercedes Roadside Assistance, forgot my laptop in Alan's car so was working on Michelle's, then got locked out of the house (only to find out this morning that Alan or myself hit the "lock" bottom on the silly garage door opener from the inside), and drove something like 100 miles yesterday in a panic for my laptop...None the less, I stuck to my nutritional portion to a T with:
  • yogurt and an orange for breakfast
  • a salad with 6 ounces of turkey breast for lunch
  • rice cakes as my little snack
  • a salad with grilled chicken and kidney beans for dinner

The exercise part, as most of you already know, is going to be altered per my body abilities and my doctor's request. I did 100 crunches and 100 push ups (the real ones...not the girly ones) and walked for a half hour. It doesn't seem like much, but believe me..for a girl who seems to be allergic to working out, that was a slight kick in the butt. Topped the night off with a super steamy bubble bath to unwind from a very stressful day at the office and day 1 of p90.

As for Alan..he is restarting today as his day #1....

The pre-P90X preparation

Yesterday was the farewell day to our bad eating habits, the days of drinking a few bottles of wine, and the start of a new beginning!

The day started with shopping for a billion zip lock bags, tupperware, a food scale, and some pots for plants (random, yes I know).

The final stop of the day was at QFC in Redmond. After walking down every single aisle (per Alan's suggestion), we ended up at the checkout line with a shopping cart FULL of groceries. It was the funniest thing ever..neither of us have ever filled up a shopping cart that full! See below for pics (Don't mind the burgers, chips and wine..that was for last night's BBQ and farewell dinner)

When we got home, I sorted everything by portion and threw them in separate packaging so that we can just grab and go. It was quite the feat, but I'm sure after a few weeks, I will be used to it and speedy as can be! The farewell dinner was amazing! We did fresh pressed burgers with pepper jack cheese (i did a whole chicken breast with pepper jack), some salsa and chips, bunch of fixins, and wine. It was probably one of the best "buh bye to eating 10 pounds of food at once" dinners possible...and I only say this because I swear my chicken burger weighed 10 pounds....AND I ate it all :)

Wish us luck on this journey!!!!

xoxo,
Tracie
